Privacy Policy
We only ask for your name, email and phone number if you choose to sign up for pension update alerts or download our free guide — and we never sell that information. This site shows Google ads, which use cookies to display relevant advertising; you can turn that off at any time. The rest of this page explains all of it in full. If anything is unclear, our Contact page is the fastest way to ask.
This policy explains what 8thpaycommissionpensioncalculator.com ("this site", "we", "us") collects when you use the pension calculators, read the news section, or sign up for updates and downloads, and what rights you have over that information.
Who operates this site
This website is operated by Nitesh Patel who is based in India. It is an independent, privately run resource and is not affiliated with the Government of India, the 8th Central Pay Commission, or any pension-disbursing authority. Information we collect
Information you give us directly
If you choose to sign up for pension update alerts, or request the free Pension Emergency Document Organiser, we collect the name, email address and phone number you enter in that form. We also record which page you signed up from, the exact wording of the consent statement you agreed to, and the date and time you agreed to it — this is so we can always show what you consented to, not just that you did.
The consent checkbox on our form is never pre-ticked. You choose to tick it yourself before anything is submitted.
Information collected automatically
- Your IP address, hashed. We never store your IP address in readable form. It is converted into a one-way hash and used only to prevent spam and abuse of the sign-up form.
- Browser and device information (your browser's "user agent" string), used for the same anti-abuse purpose and to understand, in aggregate, how visitors reach the site.
- How you use the calculators — in aggregate, non-identifying form, to see which scenarios and tools are useful and which aren't.
Cookies
This site uses two kinds of cookie-like technology:
- A short-lived, cryptographically signed security token that confirms a form was filled in by a real visitor rather than an automated script. It does not identify you personally, is not used for tracking, and does not rely on a server-side session, so it works even on a cached page.
- Advertising cookies placed by Google and its advertising partners — see the next section.
Advertising and cookies (Google AdSense)
This site may display advertising served by Google. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a visitor's prior visits to this site or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits here and elsewhere on the internet.

How we use your information
- To deliver the secure download link for the free guide you requested
- To send pension-related news and calculator updates, only to people who asked to receive them
- To detect and block spam or abusive form submissions
- To understand, in aggregate, how the site is used, so we can improve it
We do not use your name, email address or phone number to target advertising to you.
How we share your information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share your name, email or phone number with anyone for their own marketing purposes.
A small number of service providers process data on our behalf, under confidentiality, purely to run the site — for example, our email delivery provider, used only to send the emails you've asked for.
Updates we post to our Telegram channel or WhatsApp channel are public content only; no subscriber's personal information is ever sent to Telegram or WhatsApp as part of that process.
If, in the future, we begin working with third-party financial service providers (for example, to help subscribers access a relevant loan or insurance product), we will only share information belonging to subscribers who have given a separate, explicit, specific consent for that purpose at the time it is collected — never automatically, and never by repurposing consent that was given for something else. This policy will be updated before any such sharing begins.
How long we keep your information
- Subscriber records are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.
- Download links expire automatically 72 hours after they're issued and allow a maximum of 10 downloads, after which they stop working even if you kept the email.
- Anti-spam logs (a hashed IP address and a timestamp — nothing identifying) are kept for 30 days before being purged.
Your rights
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have the right to:
- Ask what personal data we hold about you
- Ask us to correct inaccurate or out-of-date data
- Ask us to erase your data
- Withdraw your consent at any time, as easily as you gave it — the unsubscribe link in every email does this instantly
- Nominate another individual to exercise these rights on your behalf, in the event of your death or incapacity
- Raise a grievance with us and, if it remains unresolved, with the Data Protection Board of India
To exercise any of these rights, use the unsubscribe link in any email from us, or write to the address under "Contact us about privacy" below. We aim to respond within 30 days.
Children's privacy
This site is intended for adults planning for or already receiving a pension. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.
How we protect your information
- Download tokens are stored as one-way SHA-256 hashes, never in a form that could be reversed
- IP addresses are hashed with a private salt and never stored raw
- The downloadable guide itself is stored outside the publicly accessible part of our server and can only be reached through a valid, time-limited token
- All traffic to this site is encrypted (HTTPS)
Where your information is processed
This site is hosted in India. Some of the service providers we use, including Google, operate global infrastructure and may process data outside India as part of their normal operations.
Changes to this policy
If we make a material change to how we handle your information, we will update the "last updated" date at the top of this page and, where the change is significant, add a short note here describing it.
